This past week students took their Ecology Unit tests. Parents are required to sign the test in acknowledgement of their student's progress in Science. An extra credit opportunity is in place for students to balance out their average which is due Tuesday 12/13 at 5pm. This past week we also began introducing our new unit on The Cell. Most assignments for this unit will be posted in the classroom.

This week we reviewed Unit 2 for our Unit 2 Assessment on Friday. Next week we will be discussing the causes of the French and Indian War and the impact this has on the relationship between the 13 American colonies and England.

This past week in English we completed various tasks (an in-class novel in 7-1, poetry in 7-2, drama in 7-3). We also visited the library for our second quarter Independent Reading Workshop novels. Students are to bring their novels to class every day, where we will engage in reading and analyzing sections of the novels, as well as focusing on vocabulary. Next week, we will continue the same workshop. Requirements have been explained to the students and are posted in Google Classroom. Please encourage your children to keep up with the reading. There is time being given in class for the workshop, but they should be working at home as well.

This week wrapped up the end of our Career/Financial Management unit. Students were responsible for investigating different careers that match their personality and created a monthly budget based on one of those careers. Next week, we begin our Cooking Unit by observing the relationship between culture and food and reviewing kitchen safety.
