ART:
No update this week.
ENGLISH:
This past week students received their Personal Narrative scores. These were sent home to be signed by a parent. In addition, we continued to work within our Rumble Fish unit. Next week, the novel will be completed, and students will have some time to work on their Rumble Fish Project - "How is My Identity Formed?" The project has been explained to them, and it is due November 19th. We begin a new quarter next week. It is my hope that students continue to work to their potential by reading whenever they have an opportunity and by carefully reviewing all work that needs to be completed.
MATHEMATICS: Have a wonderful 3 day weekend. Hopefully every student will come to school refreshed and ready to learn on Tuesday for the start of the 2nd Quarter. Now that I know your children and how they arte doing in math I will start to move seats around to make class more successful! Report cards will arrive home next week. There will be a Test on Friday November 15th for all classes. Over the weekend take advantage of the bigideasmath.com website to prepare for the next Exam.

SOCIAL STUDIES:
Enjoy Veteran's Day. When we return, we will begin Unit 2, entitled "Early American Identity: colonies, wealth and traditions." We will be working on this unit for a month, and end our study with a Colonial Day celebration on November 27 when all the teachers in 7th grade will dress in colonial garb and spend the day having students engage in colonial activities. This week will be looking at geography, and students will have to memorize the location of the original 13 colonies.
