PTA Update- November 18

Mrs. Kalner, Mrs. Bryan, Mr. Tobia- Science - Teams: 7-2 & 7-3
Congratulations to all the students on Science Symposium! It was a pleasure to see all the students and parents on Thursday evening. The science teachers are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the students' final projects. If a child could not attend the Symposium, they should collect their presentation boards from their science teacher on Friday. Last week we completing a mindmap on the three colonial regions of the 13 Colonies (New England, Middle, Southern) and learned the location of all 13 colonies using mnemonic devices (Never Make Cynthia Run = New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island). This short week we will have an assessment on the 13 colonial regions on Monday, and team activities Tuesday and Wednesday. The Thanksgiving Song Assessment will be given when we return from Thanksgiving break.

Mrs. Behan, Mr. Kram, Mrs Vetter- English: Teams 7-1, 7-2, & 7-3
This week in English students finished reading Freak the Mighty.  While completing the novel, students completed activities focused on character analysis, theme analysis, and the connections to the book with the unit's essential questions.  Next week, students will work with a number of activities to help students further discuss and understand the conclusion of the novel.

Mrs. Berman- Home & Careers- Team 7-1
This week we began our Career Unit. Students will be taking a personality profile survey which will match them up with possible careers. They will be researching the different options and creating a hypothetical future for which they will calculate a monthly budget.
