PTA Update- December 16

Mrs. Kalner, Mrs. Bryan, Mr. Tobia- Science - Teams: 7-2 & 7-3 
This week we went into further detail on the Cell. We also revisited the structure and function of Microscope for the lab we are doing on Monday comparing animal cells and plant cells.  This coming week students will learn about the independent project associated with this unit that will be due after the break. 

Dr. Marr, Mr. Hoffman- Social Studies- Team: 7-2 & 7-3
Next week we will be wrapping up the French and Indian War and completing a "Year in Review" activity in which students will be reflecting on what they have been learning so far this year in terms of the essential questions. 

Mrs. Behan, Mr. Kram, Mrs Vetter- English: Teams 7-1, 7-2, & 7-3
This week in English, students worked on their independent reading workshop assignment. They read the first section of their novels, responded to the reading via writing prompts, and investigated text vocabulary. Next week, students will continue working with subsequent sections in the novels they are reading, focusing on development of characterization and conflict, and making connections between the story and other texts, the world around them, and/or themselves.

Math 7R- Begin Ratios & Proportions Unit; Performance Task Due 12/21
Math 7A- Continue working with Proportions; Performance Task Due 12/21

Mrs. McWilliams- Math: Team 7-2
Unit Exam next Friday. Test corrections and Performance Task # 4 due next week.  Have a nice weekend!

Mrs. Berman- Home & Careers- Team 7-1
This week we started our Cooking Unit. We began with looking at why people eat certain foods and kitchen safety. Next week, students will be learning about food safety, kitchen math and measuring
