This week in science, students completed their study of Ecology. The unit test has been moved to Monday, December 5th. Next week, we will begin our next unit, the Cell. We would like to remind students and parents, if a child is absent from class due to: a lesson, a rehearsal, comes in late to school,or leaves early, please check into Google Classroom for any possible missed assignments and the homework website for the assigned homework. This week we completed a Mess to Model organizer on Colonial Regions. Next Friday students will be wrapping up colonial life and taking an assessment on Friday, December 9. Extra help will be available on Thursday.

Ms. Vetter
This week, Team 7-2 reviewed proper punctuation rules and practiced with exercises. We also worked on poetic devices and have started writing our own poetry. Freak the Mighty tests were also returned. Next week, we will visit the library to get our second quarter independent reading assignment novels. Students will engage in a four week reading workshop. Instructions will be given in class. Please encourage your children to read every day.
Mr. Kramme
This week in English class, students are reading "The Roanoke Riddles." The play focuses on the lost island of Roanoke. The students are focusing on characterization and conflicts within the play. The play falls in line with the social studies unit the students are studying at the current time. Students should continue to complete the character charts in Google Classroom.
Mrs. Behan
This week students began reading the historical fiction novel, The Corn Raid. The story is set in Jamestown and focuses on the relationship between two young indentured servants, an orphan from England and a Native American. This week students were introduced to characters and focused how the historical events of the time impacted the lives of the characters. We will continue working with the novel next week. Students will also visit the library next week to select their next independent reading novel.
