PTA Update May 20

ENGLISH: (BEHAN, FERRANTE, VETTER)
This week in English we continued working in Workshop 4 in Expert 21.  We will complete the workshop next week and students will take the Inquiry 2 exam.  We also began looking at the proper structure for the research paper.  All students received outlines via Google Drive for the paper.  Rough draft is due June 1.  Final draft due June 7.  Please remind your children that work needs to be done both in school and at home in order to meet deadlines efficiently.  

FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES: (Berman)
This week the students completed their sewing unit by finishing their pillows. Next week they will focus on Careers.


FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES: (Stern)
Cooking labs will begin Monday!!!  The students are ready and will practice their cooking and baking skills.

HEALTH: (LEIBOWITZ, GLASSER) 
This week in health we continue our drug education unit. The students will be engaging in different activities that will show them the dangers of drug abuse. 

MATHEMATICS: (FERNANDEZ, REHNBACK, MCWILLIAMS) 

This week in science, students finalized their study of the Regulatory Human Body Systems. The Endocrine System Disorder should be completed on a Google Slide and submitted to the Google Classroom. Next week, students will begin exploring the last unit of study for 7th grade, Ecology.  Students will be observing Milkweed bugs in a supportive habitat to study the organism's reproductive biology.


SCIENCE: (CAMACHO, KALNER, TOBIA)

SOCIAL STUDIES: (COOK, HOFFMAN, MARR) 
For Dr. Marr and Mr. Hoffman next week we will continue to look at the causes of the American Civil War. For Mr. Cook next week, we will be continuing our exploration of the Civil War.  Topics include events leading up to the Civil War, and Battles.
