English:
This week in English students took the first Inquiry test for Workshop 3. Scores were provided to them on Thursday. In addition we started work on the second half of the workshop, with "Storm in the Night", "The Big Wave" and "Cartoonists Capture Nature's Fury". the second Inquiry test will be administered on Tuesday, the 24th. I wish you all a very restful February vacation!
Home & Careers: Mrs. Stern
Students are working on the Personal Development and Career Unit. We have been discussing values, goal setting, self esteem vs. self concept as well as various other related areas. Students will take a Quiz to finish Personal Development on Friday 2/13. When the students return from Winter Break they will be working on a Career Project that they will complete during class time. I ask that the students bring in a Poster Size Board (22x28) for their project as well as a glue stick.

Science:
This week in science we wrapped up our investigation of the Digestive System. The unit test will be Tuesday, February 24. The next units of study will be the Respiratory and Circulatory Systems. The pace will be picking up as we progress through the body systems. It is imperative students are completing their daily homework and studying regularly.
Social Studies:
We have finished our iMovie Project. Over the vacation, students must complete a reflection on the project. This form is accessible on my website at http://www.team72.co. When we return, we will have a film festival on Student Rights and then begin our study of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Enjoy the February break!
