This week in English we finished Workshop 2, and students took the Inquiry 2 exam on Friday. We also took the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) to measure the students' current lexile levels. Please review the results with your child. If you have any questions, please contact your child's English teacher. Next week, we will begin reading our next in class novel, Rumble Fish. Students will receive a copy of the book on Wednesday. Reading will be assigned regularly. Please be sure your child keeps up to date with the assigned reading. Enjoy the long weekend!

This week in science, students continued their study of the
skeletal system. The science midterm exam will take place on Friday, January 22
and Monday, January 25. Review will take place all next week leading up to the
exam.
SOCIAL STUDIES: (COOK, HOFFMAN, MARR)
Next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is the Quarterly exam in social studies. On Wednesday students will complete 40 multiple choice questions. These rest of the exam will be completing a Document-Based Question (DBQ) and writing the essay. Extra help is Tuesday. Topics include 13 Colonies, French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War.
