ENGLISH: (BEHAN, FERRANTE, VETTER)
This week in English students started working in Expert 21, Workshop 2. Students will read and analyze texts that focus on the essential question, "Do we care too much about winning?" This week students also visited the library to select a fiction novel for the second quarter independent reading assignment. Students will write an essay that focuses on the novel's theme. All assignments are due Friday, January 8th. As a culminating activity, both teams participated in a team day. Next week, we will continue working on Workshop 2.
HEALTH: (GLASSER & LEIBOWITZ)
This week in health we exploring the world of advertising. Specifically we are looking at the tobacco companies and how they manipulate ads to sell their products. The students are creating their own ads for cigarettes. These ads tell the truth about tobacco products and the dangers of tobacco.

The 7th Graders are sewing by hand. They are practicing various stitches this week. Next week they will do a hand sewing project and complete it in class to show off their hand sewing skills.
MATHEMATICS: (FERNANDEZ, REHNBACK, MCWILLIAMS)
The next Unit Exam in Math is on December 11th. The Performance Task is due on December 18th.
SCIENCE: (CAMACHO, KALNER, TOBIA)
This week in science, students continued the study of the cell. All students conducted a laboratory investigation comparing animal and plant cells viewed under the microscope. Each student created a wet-mount slide of their very own cheek cells and onion cells. There was a quiz given on Friday. In addition, the cell analogy project was assigned on Monday 11/30 which is due next week.
