This past week we started a new workshop in our Expert 21 books - "Nature's Fury". We will be exploring a number of texts that deal with the science of natural disasters, as well as determine how we as individuals and communities deal with hardships as a consequence. We have read the first three passages of the workshop, and an Inquiry test is being given on Monday, February 9th. As always, the inquiry will be open-book. Next week, we will continue the work with the second half of the workshop. Scrapbooks were returned to the students this week, along with a rubric explaining their scores.

This week in science, students began their study of the Digestive System. They read an introductory article, " The Day in the Life of a Pepperoni Pizza", which follows the journey of a pepperoni pizza through the organs of the Digestive System. Study sheets A&B were completed in the Digestive System Reading Packet. A quiz was given on Friday, February 6. We should complete our investigation of this body system next week, culminating with a unit exam next Friday, February 13.

This week we will be working on a mini-research iMovie project. The project and resources can be found on our web page http://www.team72.co/p/student-rights-mini-research-project.html. We will be working with an outside consultant and Mrs. VanLoon to help students create these projects.
